Terry Fox Statue at Canfor Leisure Pool
Located at the main entrance of the Canfor Leisure Pool, this bronze statue of Terry Fox honours a pivotal moment in Canadian history. The statue is based on the original fibreglass version that once stood in Community Foundation Park and depicts Fox at the moment he realized he could complete the Marathon of Hope.
Recast in bronze in 2022, the statue marks the site of Fox’s first-ever marathon run during the 1979 Labour Day Classic in Prince George. Unlike many depictions that focus on hardship, this statue captures optimism, determination, and the beginning of a national legacy.
