MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE SCENES
Elliott Hearte is an experienced Arts Administrator who has worked with artist run centres, festivals, equity seeking groups, and arts service organizations across Canada. Elliott held the role of Co-Director at Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre in Atlantic Canada prior to returning home to the West Coast. As Managing Director of Pride in Art Society she executed four editions of the multidisciplinary Queer Arts Festival and was instrumental in the creation of SUM Gallery. For the past two years Elliott has focused on equity and organizational development consulting for the National Indigenous Media Arts Coalition, Moving Images Distribution, Artistic Sign Language, and more. A graduate of the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, her work in film, video and new media has shown extensively in festivals and galleries across Canada, USA, and Europe. Elliott participates on numerous boards and committees dedicated to the advancement of media arts in Canada and abroad including the Independent Media Arts Alliance, and the Media Arts Alliance of the Pacific.
Patricia Huntsman, M.B.A., B.A.
Interim Managing Director (until June 2020.)
Patricia is member of a growing field of cultural management professionals in North America, and is a sought-after and respected voice at the forefront of culture-led economic and community development in Canada. With more than 20 years experience in leadership and senior management roles in the creative field, Patricia is recognized for her intuitive, engaging, and dedicated client-centred approach to arts and cultural management. An avid supporter of visual and performing arts, Patricia has served on notable boards across Canada, including Opera Lyra Ottawa and the University of New Brunswick. She is a member of the professional association of Arts Consultants Canada, the Creative City Network of Canada, the Canadian Museums Association, the British Columbia Museums Association and the Canadian Public Relations Society.
Merideth Bisiker, B.A.
Financial and Data Administrator
Merideth oversees all financial administration for Arts BC, including bookkeeping, monthly reporting and records management, and maintains the membership database and membership renewals. Her background as a professional coach and organizational consultant with a focus on finance and business systems supports Arts BC in translating its vision into practical strategies. Merideth makes time for music, both as a patron of local musicians and as the lead singer of a rock cover band, and is currently feeding her film passion by with documentary filmmaking and volunteering as treasurer for Hub City Cinema Society.
