Canfor Leisure Pool Mural

Talukw Bah Bedukaih / Dipping for Salmon is a three by seven metre public artwork created by Lheidli T’enneh artists Ray Desjarlais and Kym Gouchie. Installed in the foyer of the Canfor Leisure Pool, the piece depicts an elder dip netting for salmon at twilight on the Nechako River.

Inspired by memories of intergenerational fishing practices, the artwork honours the cultural importance of water, salmon, and community gathering. Commissioned by Canfor in partnership with the City of Prince George, the piece reflects both the history and ongoing presence of Lheidli T’enneh traditions in the region.
