Bridget Moran Statue
Located at 3rd Avenue and Quebec Street in downtown Prince George, this bronze sculpture honours Bridget Moran (1923–1999), a social worker, activist, and author who dedicated her life to supporting families and amplifying community voices in Northern British Columbia.
Created by artist Nathan Scott and unveiled in 2004, the sculpture depicts Moran seated on a bench in a listening posture, holding her book Stoney Creek Woman. The open space beside her invites visitors to sit, reflect, and engage with her story. A nearby plaque details her life, career, and lasting contributions to the region.
A local tradition sees the statue dressed seasonally by the community, reflecting the ongoing connection between Moran’s legacy and the people she served.
