We contribute to a healthier and stronger sector through values-based work, centring knowledge sharing, collaboration, and systems change. We provide professional development opportunities and support services to our province-wide network of arts, culture and heritage organizations, individual artists and creative entrepreneurs, \ and community and partner groups.

Arts BC’s Shared Services Bookkeeping program supports arts and culture organizations across British Columbia through shared bookkeeping and financial administration services. We help organizations of all sizes establish strong financial practices, navigate reporting requirements, and reduce administrative burden, so they can focus on their artistic and community impact.

About the Role

Join our dynamic Shared Services program as a part-time permanent bookkeeper. Set hours will be established at the start of employment and will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (PT) on at least three weekdays, Monday to Friday, with Thursday required, as mutually agreed upon. Any changes to hours would be discussed and agreed upon by both parties. Our team is fun, knowledgeable, and thrives on accurate, organized, and insightful bookkeeping. Fully remote, we take processes seriously and have deep experience supporting BC non-profits and charities, guiding our clients through complex bookkeeping and reporting requirements with confidence and care. Our team is committed to a positive and collaborative work environment.

We are looking for someone who is arts-informed, with a genuine understanding of arts and culture bookkeeping practices, and who can demonstrate at least 3 years of practical, full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in BC non-profit and charity accounting, including bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and compliance.
Role Details

In this role, you will work alongside a lead bookkeeper and a growing bookkeeping team focused on collaboration, with support from our operations team. Our team is committed to fostering a positive and innovative work environment that not only serves our clients well but also serves our team members so that they can thrive in their work.

You will deliver your work in alignment with Arts BC’s values and the equity principles that inform our work.

  • Using QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc and payroll software, complete full-cycle monthly accounting and payroll tasks, draft monthly financial reports, and prepare files for lead bookkeeper review.
