Sundog Festival of Arts & Culture
Thompson Okanagan
The Sundog Festival of Arts & Culture is an annual, community-driven celebration of creativity, culture, and connection held each September in Vernon and the North Okanagan as part of BC Culture Days. The festival brings together local artists, performers, Indigenous knowledge keepers, cultural organizations, and community groups to showcase the region's diverse artistic and cultural life.
The festival begins with a free, family-friendly kick-off weekend featuring live music, dance, theatre, visual arts, artisan vendors, food, and interactive cultural experiences. Throughout the following weeks, independently hosted events take place across the region, including exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, storytelling, heritage activities, film screenings, and hands-on creative experiences for all ages.
Organized by the Arts Council of the North Okanagan in partnership with local organizations, volunteers, and sponsors, Sundog celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the North Okanagan while making arts and culture accessible to everyone.
