ArtsBC Director: South Western BC/Greater Vancouver.
Doti Niedermayer is currently the Senior Manager, Cultural Services at the District of West Vancouver. Previously, as Executive Director at Arts Whistler for 14 years, Doti oversaw numerous festivals, events, and programs including a key role in the Whistler Live Sites program for the 2010 Winter Games and cultural programs leading up to the Games from 2004-2010. Working closely with municipal government and community stakeholders, Doti was on the Steering Committee or Project Manager for the Whistler Cultural Tourism Development Strategy, Whistler Community Cultural Plan, Alliance for Cultural Tourism and the Festivals, Events and Animation Working Group.
Previously she worked with the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance, BC Alliance for Arts & Culture, Surrey Arts Centre, ARTROPOLIS 1993, Vancouver Fringe Festival, and contracted for various Lower Mainland arts organizations and festivals.
Over the years, Doti has learned a lot about board governance, cultural planning, tourism development, financial management, grant writing, arts management, event production, programming and trying not to drown with the balancing act.
Doti was on the ArtsBC board in 2001 while at the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council. She is excited about the development of ArtsBC over the years and was honoured to be asked to rejoin the Board in 2017.
